Cover time of a random graph with a degree sequence II: Allowing vertices of degree two

چکیده
We study the cover time of a random graph chosen uniformly at random from the set of graphs with vertex set [n] and degree sequence d = (di) n i=1. In a previous work [1], the asymptotic cover time was obtained under a number of assumptions on d, the most significant being that di ≥ 3 for all i. Here we replace this assumption by di ≥ 2. As a corollary, we establish the asymptotic cover time for the 2-core of the emerging giant component of G(n, p).

Cover time of a random graph with given degree sequence II: Dealing with vertices of degree two
In this paper we establish the cover time of a random graph Gd chosen uniformly at random from the set of graphs with vertex set [n] and degree sequence d = (d1 ≤ d2 ≤ · · · ≤ dn ≤ no(1)). In a previous paper [1] we made a number of assumptions about Gd, the most significant being the assumption that d1 ≥ 3. In this paper we continue this line of research and only assume that d1 ≥ 2.
متن کاملk-forested choosability of graphs with bounded maximum average degree
A proper vertex coloring of a simple graph is $k$-forested if the graph induced by the vertices of any two color classes is a forest with maximum degree less than $k$. A graph is $k$-forested $q$-choosable if for a given list of $q$ colors associated with each vertex $v$, there exists a $k$-forested coloring of $G$ such that each vertex receives a color from its own list. In this paper, we prov...
متن کاملSplice Graphs and their Vertex-Degree-Based Invariants
Let G_1 and G_2 be simple connected graphs with disjoint vertex sets V(G_1) and V(G_2), respectively. For given vertices a_1in V(G_1) and a_2in V(G_2), a splice of G_1 and G_2 by vertices a_1 and a_2 is defined by identifying the vertices a_1 and a_2 in the union of G_1 and G_2. In this paper, we present exact formulas for computing some vertex-degree-based graph invariants of splice of graphs.
متن کاملSome Results on Forgotten Topological Coindex
The forgotten topological coindex (also called Lanzhou index) is defined for a simple connected graph G as the sum of the terms du2+dv2 over all non-adjacent vertex pairs uv of G, where du denotes the degree of the vertex u in G. In this paper, we present some inequalit...
متن کاملThe Cover Time of Random Walks on Graphs
A simple random walk on a graph is a sequence of movements from one vertex to another where at each step an edge is chosen uniformly at random from the set of edges incident on the current vertex, and then transitioned to next vertex. Central to this thesis is the cover time of the walk, that is, the expectation of the number of steps required to visit every vertex, maximised over all starting ...
